Training
Stal Kersten offers many internships to train young, eager
riders. Throughout the year we have several trainees from all
levels of riding. Stal Kersten receives most of its trainees
from two schools in Holland with equestrian degrees. However we
also welcome foreign riders, looking for an opportunity to
improve their skills and learn barn management. Different
internships are offered depending on the students desire and
level of education. Trainees have a chance to work in a
professional competing barn and learn everything from riding to
business management. The trainee helps with tasks on a daily
basis in and about horses, such as preparation for shows and
longing. The tasks given to a trainee depends on his or her
level and experience as an intern. Pieter also offers coaching
for the trainee on his or her own horse. At Stal Kersten you
have a chance to learn everyting about the training of sport
horses.
Pieter has given lessons to riders with
their own horses for over thirty years on all levels of dressage
and jumping. His training plan for each rider is different,
depending on the ability of the rider and the horse.
Stal Kersten has also become a training
center for foreign students looking to improve their riding.
Pieter holds clinics here at Stal Kersten, but also travels
world wide to host clinics overseas. Students can use their own
horses or leased owns. Stal Kersten offers to help clients find
a perfect training horse to lease for clinics held here in
Holland. It is also possible for a rider to stay an extended
period of time at Stal Kersten for further training. We often
have foreign riders train at our stable for six-month periods
and more. They receive coaching everyday by Pieter as well as
additional coaching at local shows.
